Method 1. Switch QuickBooks to single-user mode

You cannot download QuickBooks desktop and payroll updates in multi-user mode. So, follow the steps given below, run QuickBooks in single-user mode, and then download the update:

1. Open QuickBooks and choose the File menu.

2. Select the Switch to Single user mode option.

Method 2. Check if the location of the mapped file is correct
